Kovalam is a beach town on the Arabian Sea in Kerala, a state in south India. It is located around 13 km from downtown Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum).
Today Kovalam has become one of the most popular beach hangouts in India. Kovalam means a grove of coconut trees and truly the coconut trees along the beaches give a ravishing look.

The palm-fringed bays in secluded coconut groves, promise a relaxed stay. The boundless blue waters of the Arabian Sea and miles of white sands washed away by the surf at the feet of the stalwart palms and the rocky promontories, makes this beach paradise. This marvellous beach is a tourist's dream come true.

A sheltered natural bay with cool soothing palms and gentle waves. Where when you are tired of aquatics, swimming or sunbathing, you can explore the handicrafts, jewellery and cloth shops spread along the waterfront. Not to speak of the delightful sea-food fare including lobsters available at the beachside restaurants.There are a large number of beach resorts in and around Kovalam. The sea port of Vizhinjam is about 3 km away and famous for its special varieties of fish, old Hindu temples, big churches and a mosque. The Proposed International Trans shipment Terminal at Vizhinjam  is also close to Kovalam.

The crescent-shaped beaches of Kovalam can be divided in three sections. The southern most beach – Lighthouse beach, the middle beach – Hawa beach and the northern most beach – Samudra beach.

The nearest airport is  Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)  about 15kms from Kovalam.
By Rail
Thampanur railway station in Trivandrum is an important rail head of the Southern Railway and is well linked to major towns up country as well as within the State just 15 Kilometers from Kovalam.

Coorg

252 kms from Bangalore  and 1525 m above sea level lies Madikeri, the district headquarters of Kodagu. Coorg or Kodagu (originally called Kodaimalenadu) means 'dense forest on steep hill'. How to Reach Coorg by Air: The nearest airport from Coorg is Mangalore (135kms). A number of airlines connect the city with the cities like Bangalore.

How to Reach Coorg by Road: there is a well-laid-out network of roads connecting the city with important cities in Karnataka. Cities like Mysore (120 kms), Hassan (115kms), Mangalore (136kms) and Bangalore (256kms) are linked by roadways with Coorg.

How to Reach Coorg by Rail: Mysore is the most convenient railhead from Coorg. The city is only less than 2½ hours drive from Coorg and is also connected to the rest of India with extensive rail network. One can also use the rail stations in Mangalore and Hassan to access to Coorg

Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is a famous national park of India. This is world renowned park for the tiger conservation. The park is attributed to the Jim Corbett who played important role in its establishment—Corbett National Park is the oldest national park of India.  Initially the park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand state.

Corbett National Park India has been a haunt for wildlife lover tourists for a long time. Tourism activity is only allowed in certain area of Corbett Tiger Reserve so that people get a chance to see its fabulous landscape and the diverse wildlife. In past many years the number of tourist coming here has increased considerably.

The Jim Corbett National Park is a heaven for the adventure enthusiast and wildlife adventure lovers. Corbett is India's first national park which comprises 512.8 km area of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grass lands and large lake and stream. The elevation ranges from 1275 feet to 4,000 feet. Winter nights are very much cold but the days are sunny. It rains from mid of June to September end.

Dense moist deciduous forest mainly consists of papal, sal, haldu, rohini (elephant feed) and mango trees, these trees cover almost 71 per cent of the park. The 10 per cent of the region consists of grasslands. It houses around 110 tree species, around 50 species of mammals, 580 bird and 25 reptile species. The rare Royal Bengal tiger of India resides here. The sanctuary was the first to come under Project Tiger initiative in 1973.

The park is positioned between 29°25' to 29°39'N latitude and 78°44' to 79°07'E longitude.  The standard altitude of the region ranges between 360 m (1,181 ft) and 1,040 m (3,412 ft). The present area of the Reserve is 1,301.58 square kilometers (509.09 sq mi) including 520 square kilometers (200 sq mi) of dense core area and 797.72 square kilometers (308.00 sq mi) of buffer part. The core area forms the national park while the buffer contains reserve forests (496.54 square kilometers (191.72 sq mi)).

The temperature may vary from 8 °C to 31 °C in winter season and some mornings are foggy between Decembers to January. Summer temperatures likely do not rise above 43 °C. Rainfall starts from mid June and continues to September ends.

Route: Ramnagar is the center of operations of Corbett Tiger Reserve. There are two trains are available from Delhi to Ramnagar. Also, there is one train from Varanasi via Lucknow to Ramnagar. Reach Ramnagar then hire a taxi from Ramnagar railway station to Dhikala or any wildlife resort.

Ramnagar is also well connected by road with Lucknow, Nainital, Ranikhet, Haridwar, Dehradun and New Delhi. One can also drive from Delhi (260 km) via Ghaziabad, Gajraula, Moradabad, Kashipur to reach Ramnagar.
